In memory of Ryan McPherson

Play with Purpose

Golf tournaments and video game tournaments raising funds for housing nights so families battling cancer can stay close to the care they need.

Our Mission

Leveling up hope for families facing cancer.

Level-Up for a Cure was founded in memory of Ryan McPherson, who passed away from cancer on November 4, 2024. Ryan loved math, tutored young students while working toward becoming a math teacher, and brought the same joyful focus to competitive Super Smash Bros. and Dungeons & Dragons.

We carry that spirit forward by turning play into practical support. Every tournament, sponsorship, and gift helps provide housing nights for families seeking the best possible cancer treatment.

Ryan's Legacy

A teacher's heart, a gamer's focus, a lasting purpose.

Ryan was working toward becoming a math teacher and spent part of his college years tutoring young math students. He was also an avid video gamer, a competitive Super Smash Bros. player, and a Dungeons & Dragons fan.

Level-Up for a Cure brings those pieces of Ryan's life together in service of families who need a place to stay while facing cancer treatment.
